Many organizations, communities and networks have embedded The Harwood Institute’s practice of Turning Outward and made real progress in their communities.

Our partners such as United Way Worldwide, Tallahatchie River Foundation in Mississippi, and individual communities are using our approach to develop innovative programs, forge boundary-spanning partnerships, and shift their cultures and organizations to be more Turned Outward - where the community is the reference point for making decisions. These changes lead to greater relevance and impact and often increased funding.

We’ve innovated the strategies and methods to scale our approach. Training and coaching partnerships usually last for 18-24 months.
