Kris Nelson

Kris Nelson's personal mission is "Make a Difference". This spills over into every aspect of her daily life.
Her passion for teaching and helping others is one she's applied to multiple teaching, training, and coaching roles over the years. Over the last 40+ years, this has included multiple paid teaching and coaching roles with adults and children, and volunteer roles in areas including church, community, youth, local networking groups, and more.
At present, in her professional life, Kris teaches ESL and public speaking to adults and children and works with high school students in a dual credit course targeted to at-risk students called, “Starting a Business” through Durham College.
On a volunteer level, Kris is actively involved with Toastmasters International where she coaches and mentors several leaders, supports candidates vying for international leadership roles, and presents workshops to clubs and districts to educate and inspire. In addition, Kris has served on the Board of Directors at Women's Resources of Kawartha Lakes, a nonprofit organization supporting abused women and their children, this year as Vice-Chair. She also works with former feral cats as they learn to trust in her role as a foster mom with Random Rescuer.
