Lisa Hanger
Certified Harwood Coach
Lisa brings deep experience in nonprofit talent development, organizational and individual change, and creative strategies. She met Rich Harwood on a Main Street Tour stop in Anderson, Indiana, and has been a Harwood champion ever since. She led two Harwood partnership cycles with 15 Indiana United Ways and became a Harwood Certified Coach during that time. She became inspired by seeing turning outward in action in all sized United Ways no matter their challenges or initial capacities.
Lisa is also a Registered Corporate Coach, Certified DiSC Trainer, and a Master Facilitator. She is passionate about helping people build on strengths and finding greater joy in their work and personal lives. She has led other learning teams such as Community Impact, Constituent Relationship Management, Appreciative Inquiry, and Human-Centered Design Thinking (HCD). She is experienced in multiple strategic planning models, creative problem-solving, and has extensive BoardSource training in governance.
Lisa’s career includes being Vice President for Talent and Performance serving Indiana’s 60+ United Ways for 25 years. She developed and led the regionally-based Indiana Nonprofit Resource Network (INRN) which served thousands of nonprofit boards, staffs, and volunteers. She has trained a wide variety of nonprofits and led many training partnerships including United Way Worldwide, Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy’s Women’s Institute, AmeriCorp, and universities.
Her training career started with Indiana Department of Education, Division of Adult Education, where Accelerated Learning and how adults learn sparked her calling. She has a B.A. in Psychology. In her spare time she piloted a theme-based family art lesson series.
