Announcing the affiliation of Dr Michelle Lucas

Washington, DC - The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation (USA) is pleased to announce a formal affiliation with Dr Michelle Lucas of CMM – Social Change (AUS). The Institute has invited Dr Lucas to become a Senior Fellow based on her deep experience and proven track record as a leader of collective impact and community-based projects. Said The Harwood Institute President and Founder, Rich Harwood, “We are thrilled that Michelle has agreed to partner with us. Her international expertise with community change, collective impact, and diverse populations will greatly elevate and accelerate the Institute’s existing and future work.” Dr Lucas describes her affiliation with The Harwood Institute as providing “a hope-filled connection to the Institute’s deep knowledge, experience and values in enabling communities to engage in meaningful social change.” Dr Lucas and the Institute will work on projects in communities throughout Australia, the US and Canada. Furthermore, Dr Lucas and the Institute will work to further develop the foundations of the Institute’s Shared Responsibility approach. 

About Dr Michelle Lucas
Dr Michelle Lucas is the Executive Director and Founder of CMM - Social Change. Dr Lucas has worked for 20 years designing, implementing and refining a collective approach to address complex social challenges throughout Australia and Asia. Dr Lucas has also held the role of Founding Executive Director of Opportunity Child, a national collective impact initiative to address childhood vulnerability across urban, regional and remote Australia. Prior to that, Dr Lucas was the Executive Director of Collective Impact at Desert Knowledge Australia, working specifically with remote and very remote communities across 85% of the country’s land mass. Throughout her career, Dr Lucas has worked with a diversity of communities, including extremely remote aboriginal communities, vulnerable urban settings, communities of newly arrived immigrants to Australia and within culturally pluralist contexts.
