Andrew Della Rocca

Head Coach

Andrew has worked with teams and communities throughout the United States, in Brazil, and in Australia, as a leadership coach, educator, and facilitator, bringing people together to foster meaningful and productive dialogue in pursuit of their shared and inclusive aspirations.

He earned a Master’s degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason, and holds multiple coaching certifications. He lived for six years in Northeastern Brazil, teaching and translating. Through his partnerships there, he was introduced to various liberation movements which have informed much of his worldview — in particular that local challenges can and must be addressed with locally-grown solutions in order to be transformative and sustainable.

Before joining The Harwood Institute full time as Head Coach, Andrew directed the coaching program at RallyBright and led Manifestara — a coaching firm that worked with organizations to develop their leadership and team capabilities. He has worked with over 100 coaches and dozens of teams. Prior to his coaching work, he served as a high-school English teacher.

As Head Coach at The Harwood Institute, Andrew spearheads the coaching and support strategy for the Institute’s various community initiatives.

Andrew recently moved to Silver Spring, MD, and enjoys the access it provides to a culturally diverse downtown, hiking trails, theater, and the local YMCA. He also likes to challenge himself with new recipes in the kitchen. Thankfully for his family he is occasionally successful.
