Jax Martinez Franks

Studio associate

Jax is a rising junior at George Washington University, studying Political Science and Criminal Justice. She is originally from the Bay Area of California where her curiosity for how communities can come together to make change began.

Last summer, Jax worked with the Yurok Tribe in California doing research on past legislation that has affected the tribe and others in California and across America. She is very excited to take this knowledge about Indigenous communities and use it to inform her current work at The Harwood Institute. She is enthusiastic to learn more about how communities can heal from the inside out.
